Sheet Metal

Here are the Sheet Metal videos and tutorials from the Solid Edge Synchronous Migration training course.

Sheet Metal - Part One - Synchronous Migration

The purpose of this Solid Edge video training session is to start looking at constructing Synchronous sheet metal parts. This is the first sheet metal session which will cover the workflow for creating base sheet metal features such as Tabs & Contour Flanges as well as additional features such as Flanges. These all create similar geometry to the equivalent commands in the ordered mode but the way we use them is quite different. You will also learn how to use the Jog and Bend commands as well as the finer details of Synchronous sheet metal cut outs and corner breaks.

The above is a short overview of the Solid Edge tutorial Sheet Metal - Part One - Synchronous Migration.

Sheet Metal - Part Two - Synchronous Migration

The purpose of this Solid Edge video training session is to start looking at the construction of Synchronous sheet metal parts. In this second session we will cover the use of deformed sheet metal features such as Louvers, Dimples, Drawn Cuts & Beads. These are all profile based procedural features which means that their parameters can easily be edited at any time after creation. You will also learn about the significance of feature origins with regards to sheet metal parts as well as how to use the Gusset, Hem, Close 2 bend Corner and Etch commands in this environment.

Sheet Metal - Part Three - Synchronous Migration

The purpose of this Solid Edge video training session is to continue looking at the construction of Synchronous sheet metal parts. This is the third sheet metal session which will cover the tools available for making modifications to the model using the Steering Wheel, Live Rules and PMI dimensions. You will also learn about the different methods of removing geometry from the model and well as re-using geometry.

Sheet Metal - Part Four - Synchronous Migration

The purpose of this Solid Edge video training session is to continue looking at the construction of Synchronous sheet metal parts. This is the fourth sheet metal session which will cover the creation and options for the sheet metal flat pattern when in the Synchronous mode. You will also learn how to convert and transform imported geometry or part models to Synchronous sheet metal as well as look at how the Mid Surface command is used in order to create geometry ready for a simulation study.

Sheet Metal - Part Five - Synchronous Migration

The purpose of this Solid Edge video training session is to finish looking at the concept of Synchronous sheet metal parts. This is the fifth session which will cover how the integrated modelling environment impacts working with sheet metal. This gives the ability to combine both Synchronous and ordered features in the same file. You will also learn about the different ways an existing ordered design can be partially or fully migrated to a Synchronous model.
