Question

Using a synchronous ST2 part. After randomly placing multiple holes how do you align the holes to each other. Is it necessary to dimension each hole ?

Answer

In ST2 this is possible by using a Synchronous relate function. Once the holes to be aligned have been selected, choose the relate action from the QuickBar action menu. Then choose the Coplanar Axis relate command from the QuickBar. You can then choose the geometry to use to align the holes. This can be a face, a plane or any keypoint geometry. The first hole selected will remain stationary and the others will move into alignment with it based on the geometry used for the alignment. For additional instruction on this please refer to the video for Part Modelling Session 2 in the ST2 update series.
