Wire Harness Design allows electrical and mechanical design teams to collaborate on designs to create complete and accurate digital mockups containing both mechanical and electrical components, and removes the need for expensive physical prototypes.

Automated Reports of the harness can be created which detail the cable and wire cut length and attributes. These can also allow for a slack percentage and wire stripping. Net list files can then be exported for manufacturing.

Solid Edge PathXpres enables designers to rapidly define a 3D tube or piping path without drawing the individual lines of the path. Solid Edge PathXpres automatically generates an optimum path between two points.

Solid Edge OrientXpres

Solid Edge OrientXpres is an interactive design aid that assists in drawing 3D lines defining the path.

As designers draw line or arc segments, Solid Edge OrientXpres locks the orientation of the line parallel to an axis or plane.

3D curves can also be used for tube creation, allowing designers to easily represent flexible tubes and hoses.

Path segments may be associated with assembly geometry and/or other path segments using standard Solid Edge relationships such as parallel, perpendicular and colinear.

Automatic 3D components

Once the path is defined, a solid model of the system of tubes or pipes is established along the path segment, creating an accurate virtual mockup. Designers can specify attributes such as size, extents and end treatments via simple dialog boxes.

For piping systems, 3D pipes, fittings and components are automatically positioned and correctly oriented upon population. All components are fully associative and update with the parts to which they are connected.

When the assembly model is modified, pipes and tubes automatically adapt to design changes.

Web Publisher is seamlessly integrated with Solid Edge, so you can publish web pages with Solid Edge 3D models and related data in seconds, directly from your Solid Edge design session, without any web publishing expertise.

Using industry-leading technology developed by Immersive Design, Inc., Web Publisher facilitates access to design engineering data throughout the manufacturing enterprise and to customers and suppliers.

You can view published Solid Edge designs with the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser (version 4.0 or higher). Viewing of Solid Edge design data requires a free viewer, IPA Webview, which downloads automatically from the Immersive Design web site when users first access published Solid Edge designs. The viewer gives users an interactive window to the product design, right inside the browser, that provides selective hide/display tools as well as 3D zoom, rotation, and manual explode functions.

Solid Edge Web Publisher is a simple and cost-effective way to share 3D models and related design information with non-engineering personnel throughout the enterprise, with manufacturing, shop floor, and service personnel, and with customers and suppliers.

Simply tell PartBrowser where your CAD data is stored, either locally on your PC or on the network and you are ready to search. PartBrowser supports search by shape, browse by shape, text search and 3D visual browsing.

PartBrowser allows you to reuse your existing parts more efficiently and prevents you having to redesign a component that has already been modelled.
