Who created Solid Mastermind?

The founders of Solid Mastermind are Ingenea a limited company owned and operated by Jon Sutcliffe and me, Arthur Sexton.

What credentials do they have?

Solid Edge was released to the market in April 1996. Both Jon and I have been supporting, training, and selling Solid Edge since the then.

We have conducted hundreds of training courses and answered probably thousands of support questions covering both technical and commercial issues. We have helped companies evaluate Solid Edge, justify the purchase of Solid Edge, install, implement and upgrade Solid Edge. We have helped companies make a return on their investment and profit in many ways from using Solid Edge.

Our icon, our logo, reflects our philosophy. Look at it from any direction, any perspective, all ways we see a positive. No matter how you engage with us we aim for that to also always be a positive.

And why Solid Mastermind?

Jon and I are engineers who have been using computer assisted methods all of our working lives… and those lives started long before 1996.

We have lived the same experiences as you and probably suffered the same frustrations.

Most importantly over that time we have attended many training courses, asked many questions and liaised with a multitude of software developers and vendors both as users and business partners.

And change has been constant. Advances in technology have been immense. The first computer I worked with after graduation when decommissioned was donated to the Science Museum in London. Today my mobile phone probably has as much computing power. I can’t see that turning up in a Science Museum.

The first solid modelling software I used on a personal computer back in 1987 could model a single part of limited complexity but now there is Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology.

And we have the Web and Social Media. We have seen these tools revolutionise how we operate, and interact, and knew the same could be applied to the worldwide community of Solid Edge professionals.

So we looked at what was being provided in terms of community, user group, on line services including training, documentation, forums, help desk, webinars, etc. etc and how this was being delivered using the latest web based technology.

We were frankly shocked… and we were from within the industry.

We thought Solid Edge professionals deserved more so the Solid Mastermind community was born.

The power of the community drives us to succeed together, we are sharing for success.
